Dan Imhoff organized a seminal conference in 2000 that led to the establishment of the Wild Farm Alliance. Since its inception, Imhoff has served as the Board president of this uniquely positioned organization that works to inspire the conservation of wild nature across agricultural landscapes.
With his long time collaborator Roberto Carra, Dan co-founded Watershed Media in 2000 to publish books and run educational campaigns around urgent and under-reported ecological topics. Imhoff’s books and research have directly contributed to the founding of numerous nonprofit organizations and legislative movements. He has also served on a number of NGO boards such as the Orion Society and Center for Food Safety.
To defend his local watershed from a destructive timber operation, he co-founded Friends of Felta Creek with his wife, Quincey Tompkins Imhoff and neighbor, Lucy Kotter. That local organization developed innovative legal strategies and scientific studies to defend sensitive watersheds against industrial logging operations in California.
Dan’s next chapter will bring this activist ethic to his adopted part-time home in Spain.
